This was a long term project to display on the web a personal collection of stamps from Lanka, together with edited text from various sources.
The scans have been made at 300 dpi. To see a magnified view mouse over stamp image displayed at a smaller and closer to true size.

I started collecting stamps about 1962 when I was 10 years old, and my brother gave me his World Stamp Album. I remember attending the First National Stamp exhibition in 1966. The SLPost Philatelic Bureau started in 1968 and I put a standing order for Stamp First day covers in 1971 which I still maintain after 50 years, as the oldest standing order with the Philatelic Bureau. In 1998 July I started this website for Stamps, but soon decided to switch to creating a website for Lankan coins and notes as they had a much older history.
In 2006 at the request of the PMG, I hosted the SLPost website on my server on the condition that the put online a complete illustrated catalog of Stamps of Ceylon Sri Lanka. That unfortunately never materialised. For reasons not fully clear they moved the domain to a new server in 2010. The old Slpost website still remains archived on my server. The Sri Lanka Philatelic Bureau website still has no catalog of Ceylon and Sri Lankan Stamps.
